Devine, Texas

Devine was created as station on the International & Great Northern RR in 1881 although scattered settlements dates from the 1840s; The community was named for Thomas Jefferson Devine, a San Antonio judge. Today, Devine is the trade center for the irrigated district of the Medina Valley, a diversified agricultural region. It is a major peanut shipping center with nurseries and extensive honey production.
