6 - 7 Jacob's Cave Swapping Days - The first annual small animal swap was held at Jacob's Cave in June 1979. With over 36 years of growth, it is now the largest swap meet in the Midwest and boasts an attendance of over 30,000 people at each event. Not only are there small animals for sale or trade, but there is buying, selling and trading of an enormous variety of new and used items. Swapping Days are held three times annually, in April, June and October.

5 - 6MO0312052e009 - Versailles Olde Tyme Apple Festival - The Annual Olde Tyme Apple Festival is an award-winning festival enjoyed by thousands of festival-goers from all over the state and beyond. Starting with the first apple festival in 1980, the crowds have increased yearly and generally reach about 30,000 apple lovers that come to shop the hundreds of booths in the arts and crafts fair held around the town square.
The festival will be held Saturday, but the fun really begins the night before. Friday evening's activities include..
5:30-7:00pm - Apple Pie Baking Contest Entries at the County Courthouse
6:00-6:30pm – Baby Dumplings, Apple Tarts Contest and Apple Dumplin’ & Darlin' Contest at First Baptist Church
A Car Cruise and Sock Hop at the Sonic Drive-In, and the crowning of a King and Queen to reign over the festivities. Visitors can take in a live theatrical production of “Mary Poppins” Play at the Royal Theatre at 7PM, or head to the Fairgrounds/Hwy. 52 for the Compact Figure 8 Race. The fun continues into the night with a live, Southern Rock/Country performance by The Turner Family at Blazing Saddles from 8pm to Midnight.
Saturday Morning's Apple Festival begins at 6:30-9am with a Pancake Breakfast at Westminster Pres. Church and 5K run gets an early start at 7am and Visitors flood both sides of Hwy 52 for the annual parade at 10. The parade features local high school bands, street performers, classic cars and floats decorated to this year's theme. Apples are, of course, the centerpiece of this fun filled festival and can be found, by the bushels, at the Versailles Save A Lot Missouri Grown Fresh Apple Booth. Visitors can find a wide variety of interests from more than 300 booths in the arts and crafts fair held around the town square. Venture down to the Versailles City Park for Big Boy's Toys Car Club Show! 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies awarded in each class (36 classes) - plus - President's s Choice, Club Participation, Best Car, Best Truck, Best Motorcycle and Oldest Vehicle trophies.

The Olde Tyme Apple Festival is one fun filled day of exciting events and activities that continues to be celebrated into the evening with, our home town favorites, Coupe de Ville! Live at Blazing Saddles until 1am.
