5 Spring Art Market - A wide variety of items will be available at this juried art show, including paintings, prints, sculpture, photography, pottery, jewelry, furniture, clothing, stained glass, fiber and much more.

Musical entertainment will be part of the festivities as well.

Children’s art activities and artists’ demonstrations will take place throughout the day.

Refreshments will be available from several food vendors on the street and many Valley Junction restaurants and retailers will be open as well.

Historic Valley Junction is six square blocks of antique and specialty shops, art galleries, fashion boutiques, hair salons, service businesses, and restaurants. Many of these businesses will be open to the public during Art Market.

The Art Market will be held rain or shine. 11:00am-5:00pm.

26 Mustang Club of Central Iowa Car Show - Our annual car show is open to all Ford powered vehicles. With many different classes of cars, we attract a large variety of top-notch show cars from all over the mid-west. Since the club is a region of the Mustang Club of America, we offer both MCA-judged classes and 38 popular vote classes (something for everyone!). To round out our show, we also have a swap meet (with both commercial and private vendors) and a pony corral (cars for sale).

2 Antique Jamboree - The Antique Jamboree is one of the largest outdoor antique shows in the Midwest. It's a nostalgic event which the entire family will enjoy, the Jamboree has over 100 antique dealers from across the Midwest displaying a wide array of antiques, including: furniture, primitives, architectural, vintage clothing, jewelry, linens and quilts, glassware, stoneware, textiles, toys and much more. Prepared food vendors will be on site. Rain or shine.

15 Back Roads Wine Trail Tour - Relax and enjoy a Saturday touring Iowa’s newest wine trail, Back Roads Wine Trail. The trail encompasses four wineries on, or around Highway 92, located south of Des Moines, Iowa. The wineries are La Vida Loca Winery, Annelise Winery, Grape Escape Winery, and Nearwood Winery. Each winery will offer its own specials, including wine tastings, snacks/food, discounts, or other offers. Transportation via luxury motor coach allows you to enjoy your wine experience without the concern of driving. The tour will stay at each winery for about an hour. Wine by the bottle or glass will be available for purchase. Tour includes transportation, snacks and lunch at Grape Escape Winery.

The tour leaves from Wines of Iowa, 234 5th Street in West Des Moines’ Valley Junction at 10:30am, returning around 4:30pm. Must be 21 years old or older to attend. Cost is $74.95 (includes ticket fee) payable in advance via EventBrite. Support the Iowa wine industry and reserve your spot early–this tour will fill up fast! 27 Gallery Night - Eleven galleries will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. showcasing new artwork by regional, national, and international artists. This event is free and open to the public. In 15 years, Gallery Night has grown into a popular community event. It is one of the largest merchant events in Historic Valley Junction and a terrific opportunity to rediscover this eclectic shopping district. The galleries of Historic Valley Junction offer original artwork, custom jewelry, ceramics, glass, furniture, folk art, and fine art reproductions, as well as many other one-of-a-kind objects. Gallery Night supports many locally owned businesses and showcases the community of Historic Valley Junction.

5 Halloween Hoopla - Don't miss this special evening of Halloween fun! Games, pumpkin carving and decorating, bobbing for apples, a dance, and a hayrack ride around the Blue Heron Lake will all be a part of this family-friendly event.
