Cave Run Lake, Kentucky

Cave Run Lake offers its visitors a wide variety of quality outdoor recreation opportunities in one of the most picturesque settings imaginable. Reflected in the clear water of this attractive 8,270-acre lake are the scenic wooded hills of the Daniel Boone National Forest. Camping, swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, sightseeing, hunting and picnicking are just a few of the recreation activities offered at Cave Run Lake.

The Cumberland District of the U.S. Forest Service manages the remaining land and water areas at Cave Run Lake. The Forest Service also operates the other recreation areas at the lake, or administers their operation under concession agreements or use permits. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is responsible for fish and wildlife stocking programs. Minor Clark Fish Hatchery, one of the largest state-owned hatcheries in the nation, is located below Cave Run Dam.
