Big Hill Fishing

category : Fishing
Big Hill Fishing Due largely to pre-impoundment planning and management practices such as the construction of fish shelters, leaving large areas of timber and other vegetation standing and the stocking of borrow areas and other bodies of water that were inundated, the Big Hill Lake fisheries have developed into one of the most productive and popular fisheries in the area. Principal species of sport fish include largemouth bass, crappie, channel and flathead catfish, bluegill, and other sunfish that are native to the area, walleye and smallmouth bass.

Big Hill is also a popular spot for fishing tournaments. To schedule a fishing tournament, contact the Project Office at 620-336-2741. An application will need to be filled out for each tournament. For more information and regulations on limits, contact the Big Hill Project Office.
