La Cygne Lake is a power plant lake and has a varied population of fish that will both please and test all anglers who fish this lake. Species are Bluegill, Black Bullhead, Blue Catfish, Channel, Catfish, Crappie, Flathead Catfish, Green Sunfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Striped Bass, Wiper, Walleye and White Bass.
Anglers when fishing at the hot water outlet,or at the outlet gate at the dam, DO NOT GO OVER THE CABLES. FISHING IN A RESTRICTED AREA COULD GET YOU ARRESTED.
When the lake is partially iced over and there is no boat access both boat fishermen and bank anglers can use the walk-in area on the east side of the lake. The hot water outlet to the lake is located in this walkin access area. During cold weather this is one of the premier angling spots. The warm water brings bait fish which draw fish that feed on them. Best baits are shad imitations.
