El Dorado Lake Fishingmore

El Dorado Lake Fishing
El Dorado Reservoir has been stocked wth a variety of sportfish, including walleye, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, channel catfish, black crappie and bluegill. Other species include flathead catfish, white crappie, white bass, black bullhead, drum and carp.

The lower half of the lake has steep, rocky shorelines. Approximately half of the timber in the reservoir basin was left standing. Much of the timber that was clear-cut below existing city lakes was stacked into piles and rows to serve as fish attractors. A portion of the standing timber on the west shoreline was also placed as fish attractors. These fish attractors are anchored in areas where water depths range from 6 to 18 feet. The standing timber and fish attractors are marked with buoys for easy location.

Areas that have potential for good fishing include rip-rap on the face of the dam, rip-rap along the railroad right-of-way on the north end of the lake, old submerged railroad beds, old river channels, fish attractors and standing timber. A public fishing area is maintained below the dam at the reservoir outlet.

Crappie and largemouth bass fishing are good in standing timber and around fish attractors. Walleye fishing is good along the face of the dam and on the old railroad bed. Channel catfish fishing is good throughout the lake and in the river below the outlet. Flathead catfish fishing is good in many areas, especially "Old Bluestem Lake."

El Dorado Lake Fishing Reportsmore

El Dorado Lake Fishing Report
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT ACCURATE FISHING REPORTS:

This is just to remind you that fishing reports are given with the best intentions to help you catch fish. And do remember fishing reports given a few hours ago can change due to a whole list of circumstances. But ---- they are still one of the best ways to determine if fish are biting or not. You might consider calling someone local to find out if the report is still current. Otherwise go and have a good time in participating in the challenge of catching some fish while you have fun fishing!

And if your at your destination for a day or more check out the LASR menu above for local events, attractions and businesses that are there to help make your trip more enjoyable. And thanks to those who do their best to give us great fishing information!
