Proctor Lake Hunting

category : Hunting
Proctor Lake Hunting Hunting is permitted in specified areas on Proctor Lake. The season is from September 1 through February 24 as published in the Texas Hunting Guide for this county. Legal game are dove, quail, squirrel, rabbits and waterfowl. NO DEER OR TURKEY MAY BE TAKEN! Muzzleloaders and crossbows are prohibited. A permit is required to hunt waterfowl in the Sabanna River, Old Leon River, or East Leon River Wetland Areas. All State and local laws must be observed while hunting on Corps of Engineers property.

Proctor Lake has three wetland areas. Two of the areas are located at the north end of the lake on the Sabana River and the Leon River. The third wetland area is located directly behind the dam on the Leon River.

All three wetland areas are open for duck hunting during duck season. In order to hunt, though, you must obtain a permit for the area that you would like to hunt.

To obtain a permit or for more information, contact the Corps of Engineers Office.
