Historic Roscoe Village

category : Other Attractions
Roscoe Village is a beautifully restored 1800s-era canal village featuring Living History Tours that offer visitors a firsthand look at the crafts and occupations of that era. Visitors can tour the one-room schoolhouse, the blacksmith's shop, the doctor's office, the craftsman's house and other historic buildings. You can watch the cooper, broom maker or weaver make by hand some of the necessities of 19th Century life. You can also try your hand at tin punching, candle dipping, weaving or ink stamp printing. Adding to the charm of the village are the unique specialty shops and stores, restaurants, gardens and private homes that are intermingled with the history buildings. Roscoe Village also hosts numerous festivals and special events each year, such as Dulcimer Days (third full weekend in May); the Corvettes at Roscoe Cruise-In (second Sunday in June); the Heritage Craft and Olde Time Music Festival (third weekend in June); the Civil War Reenactment (third weekend in July); the Coshocton Canal Festival (third weekend in August); the Apple Butter Stirrin' Festival (third weekend in October); and Christmas Candlelightings (first three Sundays in December).
