North Carolina State Forests

  • Tuttle Educational State Forest

    Outdoor education, trails with talking trees and exhibits, picnic facilities, and ranger-conducted programs.

  • Turnbull Creek Educational State Forest

    Covers 890 acres of managed forest. Authentic turpentine still, naval store, saps and tar used to waterproof ships. Talking tree trail, picnic shelter, restroom. Education programs by request.

  • Holmes Educational State Forest

    A managed forest designed to promote better understanding of the value of forests through exhibits, audio stations (talking trees)

  • Clemmons Educational State Forest

    Back-to-Nature Trail. Listen to the "Talking Trees and Rocks" weave tales about the Forest, hike the demonstration trail to see natural resource management, explore our "new" exhibit center;

  • Rendezvous Mountain Educational State Forest

    Part of the NC system of Educational State Forests. Park covers 3300

  • DuPont State Forest

    DuPont State Forest is forested land that was purchased by the State of North Carolina, after DuPont sold its industrial operation in 1996 and 1997;
