Smithville Lake Water Sports Boating - Smithville Lake has over 175 miles of shoreline offering excellent boating opportunities. Five multi-lane boat launch ranps and excellent parking for trailers insure easy accessibility to all parts of this 7,200-acre lake. Rental boats are available at the two full-service marinas located on the lake.

Sailboating - Slips, mooring and dry sail facilities are available for rent. A special sailboat launching area is available for the exclusive use of sail boating. In addition, shower facilities are conveniently located nearby. For more information call Clay County Park Office at 532-0803.

Water Skiing & Innertubing - The southern half of the lake basin is available for water skiing and innertubing on a year-round basis. The Kansas City Water Ski Club has a slalom course near Little Platte that is open to the public once a month during the summer months. Water skiing and innertubing activities are confined to the area south of Highway W and west of Camp Branch Bridge.
