Colorado

Colorado is shaped by elevation, and most trips are built around gaining it. What looks close on a map often takes longer than expected, and that distance is part of the experience.

The Front Range acts as a starting point, but the real travel happens once you move into the mountains. Roads wind, passes climb, and access points become more important than destinations. Lakes, trailheads, and campsites are often defined by how you reach them, not just where they are.

On the western side of the state, things spread out again. The terrain softens slightly, crowds thin out, and the pace becomes easier to control.

Summer and fall are the most consistent seasons for moving through the state. Winter narrows your options unless you’re set up for it, but it also changes the experience completely.

Let it unfold.

Not everything needs to be scheduled to be meaningful.
