Tom Patti is a widely respected artist who has devoted much of his career to researching different formulations of glasses and hot-forming techniques and to exploring industrial and architectural glass as a sculptural medium. Over the last 35 years, he has used glass to build and define spaces that transform surface, light, and color. In recent years, Patti has dramatically shifted the scale of his work from complex, small-scale objects to illusionistic environments made of architectural glass.

DanTraveling - The Complete First Season - Trailer

DanTraveling - The Complete First Season DVD www.createspace.com It is our hope that 100 years from now people can look on YouTube and still watch our videos of people and places throughout the Southeast, but just in case, we have produced a dvd chronicling our 2007 season of travel. Most weekends, my wife, Janet, and I pick a path on our map and drive off in that direction just to see what we can see. Over the years we have been down many roads and had quite a few adventures, and some long boring drives that seemingly served no real purpose. We come home, go to work Monday mornings and tell our friends and family about our trip, and people always say, "Gosh, that sounds like fun, how do we get there?" Now you can join us as we discover the people and places in our native southeast. Elkmont Houses, Tennessee Visit the vacation homes of affluent Appalachians in this abandoned logging community deep in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Wonderland Hotel, Tennessee The hotel was demolished last year, but not before it was taken down we were able to shoot some video of the deteriorated structure. Bramwell, West Virginia Visit this "town of millionaires" and see the Victorian mansion lined streets, as well as a complete coal town in the surrounding communities of Shinbriar and Coopers. 911Flags.com is a Tribute to the American Flags which have flown across our nation since 9/11/01. These photos are currently showing in Raleigh, NC in the main lobby Municipal building gallery. Curator Tamar Harris-Warren with the Raleigh Arts Commission for the Miriam Preston Block Gallery will be showing the photographs of 911Flags.com until October 11, 2007. All photos were taken by one artist. This video represents the thousands of photos taken by Neill McDonald over the years as he drove across America. These photographs were used as presentation slides at the 2002 and 2006 official 9/11 memorial services in Raleigh, NC. They showed for the first time in 2006 as a Fine Art gallery with curator Larry Cooper at the Design Box, also in Raleigh. An unknown outside artist, Neill McDonald has continued to make his 911Flags.com photos available to general public to view while generating hundreds of new photos each year. "This is a National Treasure" says Neill who believes this may be the only photography collection of its kind. He may be right.

Street Level: Mark Bradford, William Cordova & Robin Rhode

An Exhibition of 3 fresh new artists who deal with street culture at the Nasher Museum of Art. The artists in "Street Level" explore the ways that cultural territories are defined and space is transformed in urban environments. For Bradford, Cordova and Rhode the streets of Los Angeles, Lima, Miami, New York, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Berlin act as sources of inspiration. They share a common interest in found materials and artistic gestures such as sneakers thrown over a telephone wire, stripping cars, spontaneous shrines and piles of discarded objects, that help build a gritty foundation for their art. Street Level is the first show at the Nasher Museum to be organized by curator of contemporary art Trevor Schoonmaker. www.nasher.duke.edu
