Kermit, Texas

The Winkler County seat was a mere village in 1926 when the population of the entire county was 81. Then oil was discovered nearby in the fabulous Permian Basin, and the boom was on. Today Kermit is a center for oil and petroleum-based industries. The County-owned golf course 7 miles west on Texas 302 is open daily except Mon.

For information on area attractions, dining, or events, stop by the chamber of commerce at 112 N. Poplar.
