Cowboy Heritage Festival

The Old West comes alive Memorial Day weekend in Dodge City during the annual Cowboy Heritage Festival at Boot Hill Museum.

Friday evening, enjoy a concert.

Early Saturday morning, the old west will come to life with a western parade ending on the Boot Hill Museum Complex. Chuckwagon breakfasts and hot coffee will be entwined with many stories of the cattle trail. Guests can attend the cowboy poet gathering, watch the living history demonstrations, ride a stage coach and see a gunfight re-enactment.

After a cowboy chuckwagon lunch, visitors can shop with the vendors and listen to the historians and balladeers to see just what started and what ended the famous cattle drives to Kansas.

Saturday evening, dance under the stars at our 1880's Cowboy Ball.

All of the great festivities continue on Sunday with the addition of a non-denominational church service.

When you add it all up, the Cowboy Heritage Festival is a weekend jam packed with cowboys, story telling, poets, musical entertainment, great food and a chance to win a 1880's replica saddle - a $4,000 value.
