It's time for Franklin's Annual Summer Celebration! Saturday begins early with sidewalk sales on main street, followed by a parade at 10:00 am and classic cars. The rest of the afternoon you can relax at the City Park and enjoy everything from games to crafts to food.

5K and one mile Fun Run. Prizes will be awarded!!! 7a.m. Registration.
Horseshoe Tournament
Turtle Races and Frog Jumping Contests
Big Wheels 500
Coed Volleyball and Human Foosball
Inflatables and kids games, Vendors
Dueling Pianos
Saturday winds down with a street dance on main street. BARBECUE and entertainment in the park.

Phelps County Courthouse

The railroad offered a city block to the citizens of Holdrege if they would build a courthouse. The ambitious merchants promptly provided the funds and the cornerstone was dedicated on October 10, 1884. Subsequently, the voters approved removal of the county seat to Holdrege on November 11
