The Sister Cities Association of Sioux Falls presents the Annual Germanfest on Saturday from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm the second Saturday of September every year. "Germanfest" is not based on the Bavarian Oktoberfest in southern Munich, Germany. The event is actually based on the City of Sioux Falls celebrating the whole country of Germany and our long-standing partnership with the City of Potsdam. Germanfest is FREE and is a wonderful festival for all ages.

Our entertainment: Children's Puppet Show presented by Siouxland Libraries 2 & 3 pm: Dachshund Race ( www.dakotadachshundrescue.org) 4:30-5:30 pm: Bands Begin at 2:00PM and end 10:00PM. Other Attractions: A children's area that will include: entertainment and games; German Food and Drink; Dancing; Other Vendors. Guests are invited to bring their lawn chairs to this FREE event and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the Annual Germanfest! This event draws and estimated 15,000 people every year.

Funding for Germanfest comes from the Sister Cities Association of Sioux Falls (501(c)3) and local area merchants.
