Event Details

This event is sponsored by the Van Buren Area Chamber of Commerce. The theme for this year's event is based around the opening of gigging season, specifically gigging the Hog Sucker fish and the Yellow Sucker fish, a long time sport and tradition on Current River. There will be a wide variety of handcrafted arts and crafts, demonstrations at the historic log cabin, music, games for the kids, lots of good food, as well as, exhibits of vintage wooden john boats with lanterns for gigging, vintage gigs, etc. The festival will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the "Miss Yellow Sucker" Pageant at 1:00 p.m. Come and spend the week-end.
