Event Details

Starting and ending at the New Ground Theatre. There will be a Pre-Tweed Social. 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The Quad-Cities "Tweed Ride" is a leisurely bicycle ride along the Davenport riverfront. It will launch from the Village Theater in the quaint Village of East Davenport and riders will travel to Schwiebert Park in Rock Island for a picnic lunch with live music provided by Lewis Knudsen.

Following a picnic lunch, riders will be free to "gallivant around the town" before winding their way back to the Village Theater for the Awards Ceremony, Door Prizes, and Tweed Bike Raffle.

Cost to ride is free but a $20 donation will provide the rider with a warm fuzzy feeling, a souvenir armband, and entitlement to the awards and prize giveaways. All funds raised go towards offsetting our costs with the balance donated to River Action in their cause to protect and restore the Mississippi River and our shared RiverWay environment. In years past, the picnic was held at Credit Island but plans were changed due to river flooding. The ride organizers would like to thank the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department and the Downtown Davenport Association for their generosity in stepping up to help out.
