Whitney

Whitney was established in 1879, when the Texas Central Railroad crossed Hill County, and was named for Charles Whitney of New York, a major railroad stockholder.

Today, Whitney is an agricultural/ recreational center, and the gateway to two immensely popular lakes, Lake Aquilla and Lake Whitney, one of the leading water sport and lake resort areas of Texas. This lakeside resort town is near many RV parks and three golf courses.

Pause when it feels right.

Some stops aren't on the map, but they're worth taking.
