Sierra Blanca

Sierra Blanca, named for Sierra Blanca Mountain (6,950 ft.), is the seat of Hudspeth County on modern I-10 in far West Texas. The town owes its existence to the competition that surrounded the construction of the nation’s second transcontinental rail link in 1881 of the Southern Pacific and Texas & Pacific. An historical marker commemorates the event located downtown at corner of Sierra Blanca Ave. and U.S. 80. railroads.

Let the road decide.

Plans are useful, but flexibility is where the real discoveries happen.
