Canton

As a farming and livestock market, the county seat of Van Zandt County was originally located in Henderson County.

Canton is noted for “First Monday Trade Days,” which runs sun-up ’til sun-down Thursday through Sunday prior to the first Monday of each month. See 300 acres of antiques, arts and crafts, and handmade articles at one of the nation’s largest, best-known, and most interesting flea markets. (Most of the activity is on Saturday and Sunday). Places to shop during the trade days are: Old Mill Marketplace, The Village, East Gate Market Place, the Original grounds and the Dixie House sections.
