Three buildings of exhibits portray the story of the Amana Colonies, including religious history and communal life. Video presentation on history gives excellent background of community.

Industrial Machine Shop Museum

The Industrial Machine Shop Museum dates back to 1860 and was the original repair shop for the Amana Woolen Mill. The museum still contains equipment original to the building. Machinery was driven by a central line shaft and was powered by the water wheel turned by the millrace canal.

Amana Colonies Visitors Center

Amana Community Church Museum

The Amana Community Church building in Homestead was built in 1865. Hosts guide the visitor through the church, explaining Amana's religious heritage, practices and beliefs.

Homestead Store Museum

Exhibits on commerce, architecture, communal-era crafts, and the store's role in the Amana community. Tour the museum's "open storage" areas.
