Hands-on exhibit area allows visitors a look at the Loess Hills geological formation and gives examples of native plants and animals. Programs on the natural history of the Lewis & Clark Expedition available. Facility includes meeting rooms, resource library, prairie and woodland trails. Located on Loess Hills Scenic Byway in scenic Stone State Park.

Three-story glass atrium, hands-on gallery for children, 900-piece permanent collection, traveling exhibitions, gift gallery. Annual outdoor art festival -- ARTSPLASH -- held Labor Day weekend. Special 2006 exhibits include "Motorcycle As Art" and "Fashion in Film."

Sergeant Floyd Monument

This 100-foot-tall white stone obelisk was the first registered national historic landmark in the United States. Overlooking Sioux City and the Missouri River Valley, it marks the burial place of Sergeant Charles Floyd, the only fatality of the 1804 Lewis and & Clark Expedition.
