Lexington Historical Museum, built as the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1846, contains an extensive exhibit on the Pony Express, Civil War artifacts, coal mining display, exhibits on Wentworth Military Academy and a fine collection of old Lexington photographs. The Historical Museum building is on the National Register of Historic Places. Renovation will soon begin in several phases on adding, among other things, a Lewis & Clark exhibit!

1830's Log House

In the early 1830's, the log house stood on Highland Avenue with a magnificent view of the Missouri River and lines of wagons passing by headed for Santa Fe, Oregon or California. The house had a glorious location from which to watch the early beginnings and progress of Lexington. In 1985
