The two restored floors of the retail area, connected by stairways and original 1921 Otis elevator, contain over 6,000 square feet of space.
The Emporium at Portsmouth was named "Best New and Emerging Business" by the Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce in 2003 and "The Best Antique Store in the Tri-State" by the Huntington, West Virginia 'Herald-Dispatch' in October 2004. The City of Portsmouth declared the restored building a "historic site" in 2002. In addition, The Emporium at Portsmouth is an authorized dealer for TEAC phonographs and radios, and has one of the largest vinyl record selections in the Tri-State.
