Guymon, Oklahoma

Named for its beautiful sunsets, Sunset Lake is a complete park and recreation area. Few experiences can provide the peace and serenity found on this 32 acre lake at sunset. Take a leisure walk around the 1 mile concrete trail that encircles the lake. Enjoy the plant life, the ducks and geese on the lake, and the restful water.

Fishing is a favorite pastime at the lake. Trout and catfish are abundant. Sunset Lake is the first municipally owned lake in Oklahoma to be continually stocked with trout. Fishing licenses can be obtained at City hall and other locations in Guymon. As a convenience to the physically challenged, a dock has been added that is handicapped accessible.

Throughout Thompson Park picnic areas are abundant, including three large, covered pavilions Thompson Parksuitable for reunions and large parties. An amphitheater is also available for outdoor entertainment.

For the young and young at heart, there are paddle boats, an operating miniature train, ducks to be fed and playground equipment.
