The Abbeville Chamber of Commerce at 107 Court Square launches visitors on a self-guided tour with an audio-visual preview of what to see in the area. The Historic District includes the old central business district, built around the restored Town Square; early churches, such as Trinity Episcopal, and residential areas. Much history was made in this vicinity, from war with the Cherokees to the birth and death of the Confederacy. A variety of shops, a restored hotel and restaurants rim the Town Square area.
