Permian Basin Petroleum Museum

Walk under an ancient sea, parade through downtown Boomtown, then literally feel the ground shake beneath you with the force of a nitroglycerin explosion. This interactive museum, spread over 40 acres, takes you step by step through the dynamic search for black gold. Life sized murals, ancient artifacts and colorful memorabilia help you relive the Basin's turbulent past. Also featured are the largest collection of Tom Lovell paintings and antique drilling equipment in the nation. The Transportation Gallery is the new home for Jim Hall's Chaparral Race Cars.


Admission: Adults $8.00 - Ages 12-17 & Seniors 65+: $6.00 - Ages (6 – 11) $5.00 - Under 6, Free.
Hours: Monday through Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM and Sunday, 2 PM to 5 PM
closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.
