Housed in the historic Yates Hotel (c. 1927) built by oil tycoon Ira Yates, the Rankin Museum features the restored lobby, original wicker furniture and ceiling fan, pioneer artifacts, a meteorite believed to be a fragment of the one whose crater can be seen between Odessa and Monahans, and a restored 1940 Ford firetruck.
