The festival will take place at the Old Houston Company Store, Rt. 52, Kimball. A grant is forthcoming to McArts to turn the building into a coal museum and to aid in its housing of Coal Camp Creations.

STARZ Dance Company

The festival of the arts will have its finale at Mount View Theater on Sunday, June 17 at 3 PM. The dance company has just one several awards in New York and is under the direction of Lisa Colombo Shumate, one of the original founders of McArts.

12 noon: Music, fun and food begin on the grounds.

12:30: Tour of coal baron David Houston’s house (across the street from the company store).

Tour includes meeting local artist, Tom Acosta, and viewing some lf
his paintings.
1pm: Music: South 52 Band

2:15: Tour and demonstration of the making of coal figurines for
Coal Camp Creations.

3pm: Tour of David Houston house

3:30: Music: Half Man Band

4:15: Tour and demonstration of Coal Camp Creations, and unveiling of the new 2007 coal miner, "Charlie".

5 PM: McDOWELL COUNTY IDOL: selection and presentation to the winner who receive the the certificate from WV Finest along with the invitation to perform in Charleston in the November state competition.

7PM: HANK WILLIAMS TRIBUTE

County legend, Hank Williams has been honored in this special tribute by Goldenseal’s John Lilly, Rod McNurlen and others. The show has been performed throughout the east coast, with special showings around New Year each year along the route Williams was traveling when he was found dead in his car. The show will begin at 7pm.
