Banner Creek Reservoir This 535-Acre reservoir serves as a flood control structure and water supply for the City of Holton and rural water district No. 3. As you enjoy these recreational facilities, please help us to protect, preserve and enhance the water quality.

Several activities may be enjoyed at the park including boating and water skiing, swimming, fishing, picnicking, and primitive camping. Three boat ramps and three boat docks are available. A sand swimming beach is located next to the swimming area. Four fishing peirs are available.

An RV Campground with electricity, water hook-ups, flush bathroom/bath-house and dump station is available. 34 sites have 30 amp hookups. A Camp Host is located at the north entrance, by the Headquarters Building. Camp sites are on a first come, first serve basis. Visitors claim that these are the cleanest bathroom/bath-houses in the state!

Additionally there are four shelter houses, on the north side, and one shelter house on the south side of the lake that may be reserved by contacting the office at (785) 364-4236, or at the Headquarters Building at the north lake entrance.

Disc Golf Course (9 Hole/Basket)

Hike and Bike Nature Trail - The trail is single-track packed earth and grass, with very few rocks or roots. It is rated easy to moderate for hikers and moderate for bicyclists. The trailhead starts at the north entrance, by the headquarters building, off of Highway K-16. The trail is 13.8 miles long and goes all the way around the lake.

Fishing - Banner Creek Reservoir has been stocked with largemouth bass, channel catfish, flathead catfish, crappie, redear sunfish, bluegill, and walleye. Fishing length and creel limits are as follows: largemouth bass, 18 inch minimum with a limit of two fish; channel cat, 15-inch minimum length with limit of five fish; and walleye, 18-inch minimum length with limit of two fish; there is a special limit on crappie of 20 per day.

The county has established fees for park use. Permits may be purchased from the Headquarters Building located at the north entrance, (785) 364-4236. During off hours the permit fee may be dropped in the courtesy box just inside the park gate.

Canoe or Unpowered Boat - No Charge w/ Entrance Fee
Hunting/Trapping - $2.00 (Reservation Required)
