Event Details

Anyone familiar with Baytown will tell you that the City’s Parks and Recreation Department can always be counted on for an amazing 4th of July Celebration. It’s so great, in fact, that it takes two days to get it all in. That’s right; Baytown makes Independence Day plural with festivities taking place at Bicentennial Park (1001 Market St.) on both July 3 and 4. The celebration will begin on July 3 at 6 p.m. with a performance by Gary- Michael Dahl, followed by headliner 38 Special taking the stage at 8 p.m. Admission is free.

The fun continues on July 4, beginning at 7 am, when the Annual Baytown Bud Heat Wave 5 Mile Run kicks off. More details on the run, sponsored by Wismer Distributing Co, can be found at http://www.budheatwave.org/.

Activities at Bicentennial Park will start back up at 4 pm; as the vendor and game booths open. Local favorite, Texas Avenue Band takes the stage at 4:30 to kick off Saturday’s concerts. Then be sure to have a flag in hand as the 4th of July Parade steps passes by on Market St.

At 6 pm, Hill Country Jane will take the stage with their unique brand of home-grown Texas music, followed at 7:45 by a 4th of July ceremony.

Country superstar Clay Walker headlines the Saturday show; coming on stage at 8 p.m.

The evening wraps up with a bang, with one of the area’s most spectacular fireworks show starting at 9:30. The Fireworks Extravaganza will feature patriotic music selected by Baytown Parks & Recreation’s popular DJ Mike.

Music and fireworks aren’t the only things going on at Bicentennial Park. This event is truly family friendly with a wide variety of food, arts & crafts booths, and games.
