Blackwater Falls 50th Anniversary Celebration

Join us in celebrating West Virginia Day Weekend with a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the dedication of Blackwater Lodge in 1957. Included in the weekend events will be a special recognition of the beginning of the West Virginia State Parks' Naturalists Programs, entertainment, activities and lots of fun for the entire family. At nearby Canaan Valley resort, WV Days Celebration will include a civil war reenactment encampment and other activities for the weekend. A can't miss event. Come and help us celebrate our first 50 years.

Blackwater Falls State Park - 45th Annual Wildflower Pilgrimage

Tours to view wildflowers are just a part of this long-standing event. Also offered are bird walks, nature programs and beginner wildflower and identification workshops.

Enjoy the annual 8 mile guided hike between Blackwater Falls State Park and Canaan Valley Resort State Park through Canaan Mountain. Shuttle service to Blackwater Falls SP available in the morning and a cook-out lunch is included at the halfway point.
