22 - 30 Annual Hwy 50 Wagon Train - An authentic wagon train encampment will be at Fuji Park. Take a step back through the portals of time and relive the adventures and rigors of the early pioneers as they forged their way west. Visit with the teamsters and hear stories of yesterday. They depart Saturday at 7a.m. and head up to Zephyr Cove, Nevada.

26 Pony Express Re-ride - The Pony Express Re-ride will be coming through Carson City approximately 2:30-3:30 p.m. at 3rd Street & Carson Street.


28 - 30 Carson City Rendezvous - Living history weekend. Mountain man encampment, Native American dancing and crafts. Civil War Volunteers with skirmishes, stage coach rides, camel rides, Pueblo de Nevada dancing, Scottish clan camp. Nevada Gunfighters show, arts and crafts, food court. Free western music on the star stage all weekend. Encampments open at noon. Friday night concert-Back Forty Band at 7p.m. Saturday opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. encampments open at 11 a.m. Saturday night concert, 7p.m. Sunday, Cowboy church at 10 a.m., encampments open at 11 a.m. - Main stage variety of entertainment all day. 29 - 30 Quilt Show - View beautiful quilts, shop the quilt vendors (selling fabrics, patterns, woodwork, sewing machines), traveling Hoffman Challenge Dolls, food for lunch, door prizes, etc. Hours 10-5 Saturday and 10-4 p.m. Sunday.

4 - 6 Stewart Father's Day Pow Wow - This annual powwow draws a number of quality American Indian artisans, and is also a time for alumni, former employees and their families and friends to gather at the former campus. Additionally, this fundraising event is part of an effort to establish the Stewart Indian Cultural Center to preserve the history and memorabilia of the former school. There will be competition dancing, American Indian jewelry, arts and craft vendors, Native food, drum groups, raffle and an alumni reception. It is the Committee's hope that this event will give the community a sample of American Indian heritage, history and pride. Grand entry times are 7 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. Sunday. All are invited and welcome to attend this free event.

23 - 25 Silver Dollar Car Classic - Friday night street dance, Saturday show and shine, Sunday poker run and awards. The event is open to all makes and models of cars and bikes. Registration is limited to 400. Since its inception, SDCC has grown in size every year and has sold out for the last two years.

The Thursday "Kick-off Cruise Night" will be held at the Plaza Hotel and Conference Center.

Friday, registration opens at 11 a.m. At 6 pm cars will line up at the Pavilion to cruise to the TGIF Street Dance Party, sponsored by the Carson Nugget.

Saturday, during the Show & Shine, car owners will display their buffed-out beauties from 8 am - 6 pm in Mills Park. Food and craft vendors will also be available in the park.

On Sunday, the country's only $1 million Poker Run starts things off at 8 am. The event is open to participants and the public for $5 a hand. The best poker hand will have a chance at the $1 million dollar hole-in-one at the Empire Ranch Golf Course. An excellent dinner and award ceremony send participants on their way home.

5 Basque Festival - Early fall in Carson City wouldn't be complete without St. Teresa of Avila's famous Basque Festival. To honor the rich traditions of Northern Nevada's Basque heritage, this daylong event is held the third Sunday of September, and has grown into a community-wide celebration. An estimated 2,000 people attend the Basque Festival, enjoying the authenticity of fantastic food, events, and entertainment. Quite simply there isn't a better way to spend an autumn Sunday. Gates open at 11:00 a.m.

9 Kit Carson Trail - Ghost Walk - If you are brave enough...join seasoned guides as they lead you through Carson City's historic district. Spirits of the past appear. Tours depart from 3rd and Carson Street. First tour at 10am (departing every 30 minutes) and last tour at 3:00. Advance ticket purchase recommended.

14 - 17 RSVP Nevada Days Celebration and Parade - Major carnival in Mills Park, arts, crafts, novelties, great food and drink. Opens 4pm Thursday and Friday, noon on Saturday and Sunday.

20 Silver & Snowflake Festival of Lights - This magical holiday festival begins on the Capitol grounds at 5:30. The State trees will be lit. The 300 voices of the Carson City 5th Grade Music Students Singing Ensemble and the Carson Middle School Advanced Handbell Choir will contribute the music. A warm feeling envelops the Capitol as families gather to hear children sing and to watch the tree and all of Carson City spring into light. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive in a beautiful vis-a-vis drawn carriage and will give out candy canes.
