Victorian Front Porch Tour

Nov
11–15

The streets of the North Opelika Historic Neighborhood are transformed into a Victorian Christmas fairyland with Old World Christmas figures adorning the porches of more than 50 turn-of-the century homes. People travel from far and near to see the life-size Santas, children, angels, toys, teddy bears, carousel horses and other figures designed by local artist Jan Jones. Now in its 12th year, more than 10,000 visitors annually travel to see this one-of-a-kind spectacle. The streets are open to cars on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. On Saturday evening, weather permitting, streets are closed for walkers. Carolers, neighbors in Victorian costumes and guests are invited to stroll the streets and experience live entertainment as well as the festive spirit. The tour begins at North 8th Street on 2nd Avenue and passes beautiful historic homes.
