Downtown Friday Gallery Walk is a celebration of the Arts in Lawrence. On selected Fridays from 7-9 pm, several participating galleries, The Lawrence Arts Center and the Lawrence Public Library will stay open to the public featuring special exhibitions, demonstrations and other festivities. Take advantage of this opportunity to see the arts alive in Lawrence. Maps are available at each venue. Guide maps available in early October from the Lawrence Visitor Information Center (785.865.4499) or Lawrence Arts Center (785.865.4254). The tour and guide maps are free!
Time: Sat. 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Sun. 12 - 6 p.m.

Burr Oak Natural Landmark

Having a crown spread of over 93 feet, this 200-plus year old, Burr Oak tree is one of the largest in Kansas. Searle's Oak was donated to the city of Holton in 1992, at the time being the 11th largest Burr Oak in Kansas. The estimated planting time was between 1792 and 1817.
