Additional Notes : Directions: From 1-35 Take 1-35 South to Olathe Take the 151st St. Exit (Exit 215) · You will go down the exit ramp and then back up the ramp to 151st St. This is a straight crossing of Highway 169 (Harrison). Turn left onto 151st St. · You will need to be in the left-hand lane very shortly. Turn left onto Ridgeview. Take the first left and weave through the neighborhood.

Located on the Missouri River, the park revives one of the major river landing sites where boats loaded and unloaded travelers and freight. The design of the Leavenworth Landing Park focuses on the role of Leavenworth as the "Gateway to the West"

First City Museum

The museum houses collections of early frontier memorabilia and artifacts including buggies and cutters manufactured in Leavenworth. There is also a mock-up of the United States Penitentiary, plus other prison memorabilia.

While visiting the Veterans Administration Center and its grounds, you will want to see the Chapel of Veteran's. The Chapel, built in 1893, features architecture reminiscent of the early European cathedrals. In 1921, this attraction was made famous in Ripley's "Believe It or Not"
