The Clay County Courthouse is located in the center of a quaint, tree-filled town square in Hayesville. Completed in 1889, it is an example of Venacular Italianate architecture. The Courthouse is listed on the National Registry of Historic Buildings and is still in use today.
The Clay County Historical & Arts Museum is housed in the Old County Jail Museum which was constructed in 1912 and used as a jail until 1972
