The 3rd Annual Freshwater Folk Festival will be held September 29, 2007 in White Sulphur Springs.

Hosted by Friends of the White Sulphur Springs National Fish Hatchery (FWSSNFH), this daylong, family-friendly event features live music from around the world, homemade food and craft items for sale, and educational activities for all ages. Entertainment and activities are free.

This year's musical performers are the Carpenter Ants (rhythm & blues), Kike & Miguel (featuring Steve Bloom - music of South America), Packway Handle (bluegrass), and Evolver (jazz).

The mission of the festival is to promote understanding, appreciation, and conservation of our freshwater resources, and to celebrate the local, natural history and culture of White Sulphur Springs and Greenbrier County.

LOCATION: From I-64, take exit 175. I-64 E travelers will turn left; I-64 W travelers will turn right. At the intersection, turn right onto US-60. Go approximately 4.1 miles through White Sulphur Springs to the US Fish and Wildlife National Fish Hatchery entrance on the left.

Location: Horse Stables at WV State Fairgrounds in Lewisburg
Catch the excitement of High School Rodeo as teams from West Virginia, Ohio, and North Carolina compete for top honors. Rodeo will be in the infield of the harness track with some uncovered bleacher seating provided.

Daffodil Picking Party - Pearl S. Buck Museum

10-5pm at the Clifton Presbyterian Church Mackey Park in Maxwelton. Many varieties of narcissus and daffodil's will be available for purchase at $1 a stem. Yellows, Whites, Pinks Singles and Doubles, early, mid and late blooming varieties. Proceeds will benefit the Pearl S. Buck Museum.

Carnegie Hall's Monte Carlo Night

Feeling lucky? Head down to The Greenbrier on February 24 for Monte Carlo Night at 8pm. This annual fundraiser for Carnegie Hall features “for fun” casino games like Texas Hold-Em, live music and a dessert buffet by The Greenbrier. For tickets, contact Carnegie Hall.
