Owensville hosts the largest county-wide event - The Gasconade County Fair. Activities begin on Wednesday with entries of exhibits and livestock, carnival rides, food booths and more.

The exhibit halls are full of agricultural products, baked and canned foods, handmade creations, flowers and 4-H and Scout projects. The livestock barns are a popular attraction with beef and dairy cattle, swine, sheep, goats, and rabbits. The Livestock/Ham Sale is held on Saturday beginning at 3:00PM. Many local businesses and industries support the exhibitors. . Also, each evening a stage show and musical entertainment is provided. Tractor pulls and a Demolition Derby is also held during the 4-day fair.

A charming museum housed in a 2 story brick former hotel built around 1904. The display rooms tell the story of the lives of people who came to Gasconade County to start a new life. (No ADA access to 2nd floor).
