Great Miami River Recreation Trail

category : Other Attractions
The Great Miami River Recreation Trail is one of 25 facilities within Five Rivers MetroParks, located in the Greater Dayton area.  The longest of the trails in Montgomery County, this trail is composed of two segments.  A northern segment runs from Taylorsville MetroPark south nearly to Needmore Road (approximately 5.3 miles).  A central/southern segment, also know as the Horace M. Huffman Jr. River Corridor Bikeway, was the first bikeway in the county, dedicated in 1976 through the efforts of Mr. Huffman.  It travels through Dayton south to Warren County (approximately 23 miles).  Construction to link the two segments and an extension to Miami County is in the planning stages.
