Groesbeck, Texas

Dedicated in 1870 as a townsite by the Houston and Texas Central Railroad, Groesbeck was named for one of its directors, and became seat of Limestone County in 1873.

Today it is a trade center for area farms and ranches, the site of several small manufacturing industries, limited oil and gas production, and extensive lignite coal deposits.
