2 Halifax Day - Please join us for this celebration of the Halifax Resolves, the first official Declaration of Independence from England by any colony. The historic document Halifax Resolves was signed here on April 12, 1776, predating the Declaration of Independence by almost three months. There is an annual Halifax Day Celebration, sponsored thru the Halifax Historic, coinciding with this date each year. There will be tours of historic homes, colonial craft demonstrations and revolutionary reenactors. This event is sponsored by the Historical Halifax Restoration Assn.

There is also a production of "First for Freedom" put on each year by Eastern Stage Productions. This outdoor drama depicts the events surrounding signing of the Halifax Resolves, based on a novel of the same name by local author, Max Williams.

4 Annual Fourth of July Celebration - The Annual Fourth of July Celebration is always held on the Fourth of July. This family friendly event is sponsored by the Town of Halifax, Halifax Lion's Club and Halifax Fire and Rescue, Inc. The event is unique in the fact that, the fireworks display is actually produced by the Fire Dept members themselves for the past 28 years. This wonderful event provides entertainment for all ages and draws in approximately 8-10 thousand people a year to this small town There is always lots of for lots of food, fun and family activities.

14 - 15 Halifax Muster Days - 5th Continental Line and 64th Regiment of Foote encampments including skirmishes; camp life demonstrations; tours of Historic Halifax structures; demonstrations by Historic Halifax volunteers; hands on activities; children's activities; Fife and Drum Corp. of Tryon Palace; parade; Revolutionary programs in Visitor Center; food and souvenir vendors. Family fun for all ages.

4 - 5 Halifax Harvest Days - This festival highlights county agriculture and cultural history, local and regional entertainers grace the outdoor amphitheater, NC high school rodeo provides evening entertainment on both nights of the festival. Multi state crafters and food vendors provide unique shopping and tasting opportunities for attendees. Reenactors from the Revolutionary, Civil and WWII provide a unique history lesson.

30 Christmas in Halifax - Join us for this Christmas celebration in conjunction with the Town of Halifax. Tour homes and churches decorated for the season. Enjoy a lively Christmas parade. The outside of the historic buildings will be decorated with natural wreaths. The Tap Room will be decorated inside and out using natural materials. There will also be costumed guides. 10:00 am - 04:00 pm
