11 - 12 Maifest - Maifest weekend begins Friday evening at the Hermann City Park, and the evening is traditionally a homecoming night of sorts, a time for Hermannites to gather for music and camaraderie, while youngsters flock to the carnival rides. The carnival rides, which are sponsored by the Hermann Jaycees, will operate at the lower city park. The action on the Ferris wheel and merry-go-ride starts at 6pm until 10pm. A beer & wine garden will be open Friday night at the city park from 5pm until Midnight. There will be DJ entertainment at the City Park starting at 8pm to Midnight. Admission charge.

Carnival rides continue Saturday from Noon until Midnight. Maifest Saturday and Sunday include Schiller Street Volksplatz (Craft Show), German School Museum, Street Entertainments and Food Strassa, Local Musicians, German Music, Junior Wurstjaegers Dance Group, Maypole Dancers, Hungry Five Band, and much more.

25 - 26 Garden Tours and Plant Sale - Two Tours in 2015: the popular Town Tour, a walking tour of gardens in downtown Hermann, and a Country Tour, a driving tour to country gardens.Each tour is $10; ticket price includes visits to at least four private gardens and the Garden Demonstration Area. Town & County Garden Tour Combo ticket for $15. Garden Tours may be spread over Saturday and Sunday and, except for groups of 10 or more, do not need to be reserved ahead of time. New garden-themed Flea Market at the Plant Sale. Special Ticket By-Reservation-Only Luncheon/Silent Auction on June 6th. This year as part of the 20th Anniversary of the Tour, there will be special “Herbal Treats” in many of the tour gardens. July

28 - 30 Old Fashioned Fourth of July - Food booths and vendors open at 4pm on the Riverfront. Games and activities for children all day. Best Ever 4th of July Parade begins at 4pm at Old High School on Washington and ends at the Riverfront Park. Marching Bands, Antique Horse Drawn Fire Equipment belonging to the Hermann Fire Dept are popular features of the parade. At 5:15pm there will be a Kids Tractor Pull at the Riverfront Park, with the Owensville Fire Department offering the pedal tractors for the kids to ride. 6pm there is an auction of donated items. 7pm is a Welcome by the Chamber President and announcement of Who's Who Contest winners. The Hermann Municipal Band will play marches and patriotic songs at Clara Eitmann Messmer Amphitheatre at Gutengerg between 4th and 5th St. at 7:30pm. The Fireworks sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce will begin at 9:15pm.

27 - 20 Octoberfest - Four weekends throughout the month of October, Deutschheim State Historic Site and the village of Hermann celebrate Octoberfest. Tour guides dressed in period costume will interpret the history and culture of the German immigrant and German American. Additional special exhibits and activities will be planned. 15 Children's Lantern Parade & Lighting of Weihnachtsstrasse - Participate in childrens parade and sit around the fire as the Christmas Street lights are turned on. 6pm. A Christmas tree lighting ceremony after the Lantern Parade includes caroling and a visit from Santa, who will hand out treats. Afterward, stroll through downtown to admire the lights.

23 - 1 Weihnachtsfest - Deutschheim State Historic Site - Two weekends. This is a must see in Hermann. 10am to 4pm. Christmas open house with six different decorated 19th century Christmas trees, toy collections. Taste German cookie samples and watch craft demonstrations. The gift shop has large selection of the German cookie molds and a staff that will show you the impression they make in PlayDoh. A wonderful assortment of books on Hermann History and cook books from years past and present are also available in the gift shop.

See outstanding examples of 19th century Missouri German handwork, folk art and furniture. Learn about early German culture in Missouri through our exhibits and colorfully costumed interpreters. Admission is free. Costumed Tour Guides and Samples of German Cookies: Springerle and Lebkuchen. Enjoy Old World Holiday Customs with both the Pommer-Gentner and Strehly Homes ( both houses excellent examples of Missouri German Architecture ) bedecked for the season.

23 Hermann Candlelight House Tours - Gracious historic homes welcome holiday visitors, evoking the warm glow of day's past when riverboat captains and wine merchants dispensed yuletide cheer. Five homes will be featured on this old-fashioned Hermann-German Christmas tradition. 2pm to 7pm.

23 - 1 Kristkindl Markt at the Old Mill and Festhalle - A traditional German Christmas Market located in The Hermann Mill which was recently restored, and the historic Festhalle at the corner of Gutenberg and First Street in downtown Hermann, MO. 30 - 1 Kristkindl Festivities, Hermannhof Festhalle - Experience the sights, sounds and scents of the Holiday season.
