Hinton Historical Museum

The History of the Hinton area is showcased at the Hinton Historical Museum and Parker House . The museum contains many artifacts of life in the early 1900's. The museum is also home to the Oklahoma's largest buggy and carriage collection (horse drawn and horseless), and old bicycles from high-wheels to the 30,s, 40's, 50's & 60's. Also showcased are antique cars from Model T's to Edsels, even a 1903 "Horseless Carriage" Oldsmobile, and a vast collection of farm equipment dating back to the 1800's, and authentic Indian Ceremonial items.

The Parker House was built at the turn of the century by Joe and Jane Harris and was located west of Hinton. Bill and Erma Parker bought the house in 1948. Three Generations of Parker's were raised here before it became the Parker House Museum in 1988. The Parker House contains many artifacts of home life in the early 1900's.


Admission: Admission is $1 for adults, children under 12 FREE
Hours: Monday - Saturday 10:00 am. - 4:00 pm. Private or group showing by appointment.
