Keller Park Fishing

Keller Park State Recreation Area is one of the few spots in Nebraska
where anglers will be able to catch both warm and cold water fish species. The ponds have been stocked by the Game and Parks Commission's Fisheries
Division to provide recreation for park visitors as follows:

Pond #1 - Largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish

Pond #2 - Largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish

Pond #3 - Largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish

Pond #4 - Largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish

Pond #5 - Rainbow trout

Catchable rainbow trout from the Crawford Fish Hatchery and the Grove
Trout Rearing Station are regularly stocked in Pond #5 to provide fishing
opportunity. Operation of these facilities is funded by sales of the Nebraska Trout Stamp. A current Nebraska fishing permit is required of all anglers; a current Nebraska Trout Stamp is required of anglers possessing trout.

Catchable-size channel catfish from the Valentine State Fish Hatchery are stocked annually in Pond Nos. 3 and 4. To fish ponds #1 and #2, access is provided by the county road west off U.S. 183 just north of the park. Please do not trespass on private property or wade Bone Creek to reach ponds #1 and #2.

KELLER PARK accomodates electric motor, non-powered boats.

Keller Park Hunting

In the fall, the area opens to hunting, in season, the day after Labor Day. Hunters will find opportunity for cottontails, squirrels, mourning doves, some quail, an occasional pheasant, and even grouse, both prairie chickens and sharptails, along with deer and wild turkey.
