4 Kyle Independence Day Fireworks Show - Join the City of Kyle in celebrating the Fourth of July with the Independence Day Celebration Fireworks Show.
The fireworks show will last 30 minutes and will have several unique displays this year. The City of Kyle has also arranged a special treat in partnership with radio station KAZI 88.7 to stream music as you watch the show.

The fireworks will be launched from Plum Creek Golf Course (PCGC) at sundown, approximately 9 p.m.

Parking:
No viewing will be allowed on the Plum Creek Golf Course property. Parking at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center, 979 Kohlers Crossing, and on paved parking lots around the intersection of Kohler's and Kyle Parkway are the safest locations for viewing.

The event will offer community members an opportunity to learn more about the unique features that will be included in La Verde Park and the Cultural Trail as well as provide attendees a preview of how the park will be used as an event lawn and community gathering space.

During the event, there will be a live street fair with food trucks, market vendors, live music, interactive art and more.

16 Family Skate Night - The Kyle Parks and Recreation Department is bringing FAMILY SKATE NIGHTS to you! The Family Skates Nights is an awesome opportunity to get the family out together as you skate to awesome music at the Ash Pavilion. We will have music, lights, concessions, and a fun skating environment. Chaperones (21 and over) MUST accompany children under the age of 16. Each adult and child must be registered to attend. You are able to register your family under 1 account. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED

Is the event weather dependent? YES

How are event updates communicated? Those who have registered will get an email sent directly to the email address attached to the profile used to register. Social Media platforms will also be updated

Are skates provided? No, skates will not be provided by the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department

Will skate aids be available? No, the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department will not have skate aids available.

What other equipment or gear is allowed? Safety gear items are the only other items allowed in.

Can we drink and eat while we skate? No food or drinks are allowed in the Ash Pavilion. There will be picnic tables around the area.

Are adults allowed without the accompany of a child? Yes, adults are allowed without children, but keep in mind this is a family friendly event.

Are pets allowed? Pets will not be allowed in the Ash Pavilion. You may keep pets in the park area and they must remain on a leash.

Can I just drop my child off? Children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult 21 and over to attend the event.

Is alcohol allowed? No

Parking? We will have a designated parking area for the event. Please keep in mind parking is limited and over flow parking will be at Wallace Middle School (a walking distance from Ash Pavilion)

23 Dive in Movie Event - Kyle Parks and Recreation Department is proud to present the 19th year of Movies in the Park! Grab a blanket and a friend for another great season of the latest blockbuster hits shown on the big screen. Movies are FREE and fun for all ages! All movies are rated G or PG, except when noted.
Movies are now being shown at Lake Kyle to help with Social Distancing and anticipated construction in downtown Kyle.

27 2021 State of the City Address, Kyle, TX - The Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the 2021 State of the City Address. The event, in partnership with the City of Kyle, will be Tuesday, July 27 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Texas Old Town’s Sage Hall, 1205 Roland Lane.
Mayor Travis Mitchell will offer a look back on accomplishments from 2020 as well as highlight how the city is preparing for the future in 2021 and beyond. The mayor's presentation will include information regarding the city's broader strategy to increase sustainable long-term private investment through projects that enhance public safety and transportation, with a continued focus on beautification and green space.

3 - 5 Kyle Pie in the Sky Hot Air Balloon Festival - Join us Labor Day Weekend for the premier hot air balloon festival and pie eating contest, in Kyle, Texas! Beautiful hot air balloons will illuminate the sky on Friday and Saturday evenings and will float over the Kyle sky Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Pie festivities will include a Pie Café tent, pie baking contest, pie eating contests, pie vendors (sweet and savory), and more, all of which will solidify our claim to fame as the Pie Capital of Texas. You'll also be able to enjoy a great live music line-up, an alcohol booth, market vendors of all kinds, a kids play area, and other entertainment to make this festival weekend complete.

The Squeeze Box Market Day is a free music festival that showcases music all prominently featuring the squeezebox - also known as an accordion. This event also takes place in conjunction with the Kyle Market Days vendor market. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and coolers to enjoy great music and local vendors all day.

The headliner for this year/s Squeeze Box Market Day includes Best New Male Artist of the Year and Best New Group of the Year at the 40th Annual Tejano Music Awards J. R. Gomez Y Los Conjunto Bandits, along with a slew of other talent.

17TX0308030e010 - Kyle Public Safety Center Groundbreaking Celebration - The community is invited to join the City of Kyle for the Public Safety Center Groundbreaking Celebration on Friday, Sept. 17, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in Kyle, Texas.
The groundbreaking event will provide community members an opportunity to learn more about the features of the Public Safety Center. The building will serve as a facility dedicated to serving the public safety needs of the Kyle community as well as a place to honor veterans and first responders.

This $37 million project will grant room for the Police Department to grow over the next 20 years and beyond.

The Public Safety Center will also allow the Police Department to expand its services with dedicated space to:
-Improve emergency response times;
-Accommodate victims or residents experiencing trauma as a result of crime;
-Create an investigations suite and canine unit;
-Manage evidence processing and storage;
-Increase officer training and pursue accreditation; and,
-Expand community-based programs and mental health services.

The Dialogues for Peace and Progress are an event series that takes place in conjunction with Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month and Juneteenth and works to join community members and leaders for open and honest conversations to raise awareness and, if necessary, facilitate change in the City of Kyle.

A group of panelists from a multitude of perspectives and backgrounds have been recruited to speak during the discussion and Council Member Ellison will moderate the discussion.

9TX0308030e011 - Kyle Kyle Founders' Parade 2021 - Best locations to watch the Kyle Founders' Parade is on either side of Center Street between Gregg-Clarke Park and Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park. Please stay on sidewalks or grassy areas along Center Street. Do not run into the street when the parade is going by.

Parade route is along Center Street starting at Gregg-Clarke Park and ending at Front Street downtown. 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Birthday party for Kyle will be held on Burleson Street on the city square and will include birthday cake, music and family fun.

The town of Kyle was platted and the first lots sold sometime around the 15th of October, 1880. Parades through downtown around the middle of October have been a tradition since. The tradition lives on as we reflect and recognize the many founders of this great town.

Local businesses and organizations will set up tents and tables at City "Scare" Park to provide a fun and safe opportunity for trick-or-treating. We invite all "ghosts" and "goblins" young and old to come out to our Treat Trail for a fun afternoon of treats and a costume contest!

Many local businesses will hand out candy and host activities. A few vendors will sell children's items. Food and drink vendors will also be on site.

13TX0308030e015 - Kyle Veterans Day Parade - The City of Kyle in partnership with VFW Post 12058 and AMVETS will be hosting a Veterans Day Parade and Celebration on Saturday to honor local veterans.
The parade will start at 12 p.m. Parade participants will begin at VFW Post 12058 and travel west along Center Street. The parade route will conclude at Gregg-Clarke Park. After the parade, participants and citizens are invited to attend the commemoration event and festivities. The day will include a war bird flyover, market vendors, family friendly activities, and culminate with a fireworks display.

The best locations to view the Veterans Day Parade is on either side of Center Street between VFW Post 12058 and Gregg-Clarke Park. To keep everyone safe, the city is asking attendees to stay on sidewalks or grassy areas along Center Street and not to run into the street when the parade is going by.
