Lake Texoma COE Campgrounds Oklahoma's crosstimbers region on Lake Texoma provides a desirable atmosphere for those seeking good fishing, good friendship, and a more out-of-the-way camping area. Lake Texoma is a large reservoir with an excellent fishery and many access points. Boating, swimming, skiing, hunting, bird watching, and lounging on the sandy beaches are the typical pursuits of most visitors. It features two wildlife refuges, two State Parks, and twenty-three commercial concession areas dedicated to the enjoyment of over 8 million visitors annually. Most COE Campgrounds are open from April 01 to October 31 except for the Damsite Parks which are open year round.

OKLAHOMA COE PARKS

OK - The Buncombe Creek amenities include 2 trailer dump stations, shower facilities, two boat ramps, park attendants, a pay phone, and paved access to compliment its 51 electrical sites.

OK - Burns Run East is located adjacent to a designated day-use area w/playground facilities, a designated beach, and controlled access. Other features include a trailer dump station, shower/toilet facilities, 2 boat ramps, a courtesy dock, water and electricity, pay phone, and a group shelter available for special events.

OK - Burns Run West is located adjacent to a day-use area w/playground facilities, a designated beach area, and controlled access. Other features include 3 trailer dump stations, 3 shower/toilet facilities, a boat ramp, 104 campsites with water and electricity, pay phone, a group shelter available for special events, a group camping area, and a beautiful view overlooking the main portion of lake.

OK - The Caney Creek Campground offers 42 electrical sites and 10 basic sites. It features a small playground, trailer dump station, boat ramp with courtesy dock, shower/toilet facility, and paved access. The shoreline is somewhat rocky with only a small area suitable for swimming. Small children should be watched carefully.

OK - The Johnson Creek Campground is easily accessed and a very popular small area. The campground features 55 sites with water and electricity, a shower/toilet facility, trailer dump station, boat ramp with mp with courtesy dock, and a pretty good opportunity for successful fishing from the shoreline. There is a marina and convenience stores within 1 mile of the campground.

OK - The Lakeside Campground is one of the more heavily used areas on Lake Texoma. Featuring 127 sites, most within 150' of the shoreline, two shower/toilet facilities, two boat ramps, one courtesy dock, a small playground, a reservable shelter, and plenty of open water for skiing and boating. Convenience stores and a marina are available within a few miles of the campground.

OK - The Platter Flats Campground is a more out-of-the-way area for Lake Texoma. Sites are normally available for drive-up campers. The area features 83 sites ranging from basic, to sites with water only, with electricity only , and sites with water and electricity. Other amenities include 2 shower/toilet facilities, a boat ramp, and a shelter.

OK - Damsite - Open year round. 6 primitive sites with restroom.

TEXAS COE PARKS

TX - The Juniper Point campground features 44 sites with electricity and water and 26 basic sites. In addition, there are two shower /toilet facilities, two boat ramps, one area with a controlled entrance, access to the Cross Timbers hiking trail, and close proximity to beautiful sandy beaches. There are convenience stores and a marina within one mile.

TX - Damsite - Open year round. 8 sites with no electric or water and 20 sites with both water and electric. Restrooms, showers, dump station, and picnic area.

TX - Preston Recreation Area has 38 total sites, 12 with water only, 24 with electric and water, and 2 with electric and no water. Other amenities include boat ramp and dock for camper's use only, restrooms, showers, and dump station.
