21 - 22 Lum n' Abner Festival - This festival is packed full of activities that you don't want to miss. 21 - 22 Annual Crusin' the Ouachitas Car Show - Open Car, Truck, and Motorcycle show held in beautiful Janssen Park. 22 Polk County Firefighter's Challenge - Watch these professionals in a fun competition as they demonstrate some of the challenges of firefighting. Events include a wild hose contest, bucket brigade, water fight, and timed relay races. Held in conjunction with the Lum 'n Abner Festival, this event starts at 1 p.m.

4 Annual Chamber of Commerce Fireworks Display - Celebrate America with the most fantastic fireworks display at Tapley Park. In addition to the fireworks there will be live entertainment, great food, and activities for the kids.

The fun begins at 5pm with bouncy houses, cotton candy, and concessions. At 7:15 pm the local Contemporary Gospel band, Harmony, will perform. Fireworks will begin around 9:15. Everyone is invited to come and join a family friendly night of entertainment and fireworks to celebrate America and Independence Day! Be sure to bring your lawn chairs.

29 - 31 Polk County Rodeo - Exciting rodeo events include bull riding, bucking horses, calf scrambles, wild cow milking competition, and mutton bustin'. There is also a Queen's contest, parade, dance, concessions, and the always funny rodeo clowns. 8 p.m. nightly.
